You may think I’m crazy, but I don’t want a new Kindle Fire HD. I’ve got what’s known as a Kindle 3, dating from almost two years ago now. I can read and listen to books. I can download books with 3G or wi-fi, change the font, highlight, make bookmarks. With 165 titles, I’m nowhere near my limit. I’ll probably keep it for a few more years until I’m the only one left on the planet with one of these old dinosaurs.
Now, the Kindle Fire HD can show movies and play songs. That’s what you call a game-changer. We’re not talking e-reader anymore; the reading is becoming something of an afterthought. Oh well.
Did I mention that two good friends and I, Rachel Thompson and Rob Guthrie, have pitched in and are offering a free Kindle Fire HD on Rob’s website? Some of our books are free for a few days, and to celebrate, we put together a simple contest with that nifty gadget as a grand prize. It’s really easy and painless to enter, and you might want to download a free book while you’re at it (although of course there is no obligation to do so). So, all together now: are you interested in a Kindle Fire HD? Follow me here.
